The Broadway smash hit Jersey Boys, winner of four 2006 Tony Awards including Best Musical, has once again set a new box office record at the August Wilson Theatre. For the week ending Sunday, September 2, the show did $1,236,877, marking the 24th time the show has topped itself since it opened in November, 2005.

Jersey Boys is written by Marshall Brickman & Rick Elice, with music by Bob Gaudio, lyrics by Bob Crewe, and is directed by two-time Tony Award-winner Des McAnuff and choreographed by Sergio Trujillo.

"Jersey Boys is the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons: Frankie Valli, Bob Gaudio, Tommy DeVito and Nick Massi, about a group of blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who became one of the biggest American pop music sensations of all time. They wrote their own songs, invented their own sounds and sold 175 million records worldwide - all before they were thirty," describes press notes.

Jersey Boys opened to critical acclaim at the August Wilson Theatre on November 6, 2005.  The National Tour of Jersey Boys opened to rave reviews on December 10 at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco where it has just been extended to September 30.  The show closed on August 30 in Los Angeles, where it broke box office records.  The Grammy Award-winning cast recording available now on Rhino Records.
