Photo Coverage: Williamstown Salutes Tom Stoppard

The Williamstown Theatre Festival (2002 Tony Award for Outstanding Regional Theatre) paid tribute to three-time Tony Award-winning playwright and Academy Award-winning film writer Tom Stoppard (The Real Thing, Travesties, Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead) at a Gala to benefit the Festival on Monday, November 13, 2006 at the Puck Building in New York.

The tribute to Stoppard was introduced by Roger Rees (Artistic Director of the Festival), who created the role of Henry in the West End premiere of Stoppard's The Real Thing and the role of Kerner in the West End premiere of his Hapgood.

Joining Rees in the tribute to Stoppard was: Kate Burton (3-time Tony nominated) and Gregg Edelman, who performed a scene from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead; Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice (Co-writers of Tony-winning Jersey Boys) who revealed the challenges of playwriting; and Austin Pendleton, actor, director and playwright, who said a few words in celebration of the evening's honoree.

Musical entertainment was provided by Broadway and Williamstown stars Catherine Brunell, Kerry Butler, Matt Cavenaugh, Nikki Renee Daniels and Gregg Edelman.
