The Baxter Theatre Centre's festive season programme is in full swing, jam-packed with comedy, nostalgia and music, a brand-new children's show as well as the ever-popular New Year's Eve party to welcome in 2016. The festive fun will culminate with the New Year's Eve party which takes place after the performances on 31 December, when audiences will converge on the Baxter's foyers to sing, dance and party into the new year with some of the their favourite stars. All the evening shows will start later on that night and ticket prices will be varied to include the show, a complimentary glass of bubbly or orange juice and a traditional balloon drop, with a live band led by the inimitable Nur Abrahams who will sing perennial favourites.

This summer there are four great shows to choose from - there's REMEMBERING THE LUX, STUART TAYLOR'S 2015 IN REVUE, PLATFORM 9 - TWO PARK STATION and for the little ones, Janice Honeyman's BANGALORY'S BACK.

BANGALORY'S BACK is ideally suited for children aged 5 to 10 years. BroadwayWorld's David Fick reviewed the show, saying that "BANGALORY'S BACK with a bang", calling the show "captivating." This charming and delightful show runs in the mornings.

The iconic Luxurama Theatre and the artists who performed there are celebrated in REMEMBERING THE LUX, the brand new, first-ever tribute to the venye, written and directed by Alistair Izobell and Lara Foot. In REMEMBERING THE LUX, the dynamic cast brings to life the Luxurama's history and revive the heyday of this grand old dame of entertainment and cinema, through stories, memories, anecdotes and classic hit songs. The stellar ensemble comprises Izobell himself, Terry Fortune, Terry Hector, Loukmaan Adams, Niesha Abrahams, Leslie Kleinsmith, Giempie Vardien, Nur Abrahams and Kashiefa Blaauw, and they are accompanied by a six-piece live band led by Donveno Prins.

Stuart Taylor, Oscar Petersen and Mel Jones take a comedic look at 2015 - the highlights, the low-lights and the lack of lights - in the brand new comedy STUART TAYLOR'S 2015 IN REVUE. Having scooped a Standard Bank Ovation Award for comedy at this year's National Arts Festival, Taylor brings local audiences the hottest and most topical comedy offering over the festive season. It is a feel-good comedy show, with stand-up, comedy sketches and special guest comedians. Join the hilarious team as they say goodbye (and for some, good riddance) to 2015 and bid a warm hello and welcome to an amazing 2016.

Following the success of their 2013 hit production PLATFORM NINE, local television hunks Maurice Paige from ISIDINGO and Theodore Jantjies from 7DE LAAN once again team up with director Christo Davids (also of 7DE LAAN fame) to present this sequel, PLATFORM 9 - TWO PARK STATION. Two friends travel from Cape Town to Johannesburg by train and along the way they encounter some really interesting and funny characters. It is a heartwarming and side-splitting story about friendship, trust and human relationships.

Patrons wishing to join the New Year's Eve party should book for STUART TAYLOR'S 2015 IN REVUE or PLATFORM 9 - TWO PARK STATION, with REMEMBERING THE LUX having already sold out for the New Year's Eve evening performance. Booking for the full seasons of any of these exciting shows, including the New Year's Eve performances, is through Computicket or at any Shoprite Checkers outlet.
