Tony award winning producer Hugh Hysell will be joining the cast of Off-Broadway's longest running play, PERFECT CRIME, in the role of Lionel McAuley, a savage yet charming serial killer who puts on various disguises to kill his wife's lovers and protect the teenage daughter he loves. By popular demand, award-winning choreographers Janice Garrett and Charles Moulton will stage Encore performances of The Luminous Edge, their highly successful evening-length dance theater work that premiered in September, 2014. Premiere performances sold out in 2014 and the work made multiple Bay Area critics' top-choice lists for the year, making it one of the choreographers' most popular and successful works to date. The deeply expressive and theatrical work explores themes of transcendence, hope and rebirth and features six Garrett + Moulton dance soloists and an 18-dancer “movement choir”—a theatrical form also used by Garrett and Moulton in their 2009 and 2011 productions, The Illustrated Book of Invisible Storiesand The Experience of Flight in Dreams.  Performances ofThe Luminous Edge will be given Thursday-Saturday, July 9-11, at 8 PM and Sunday, July 12, at 3 PM, at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater, located at 701 Mission Street. Three of Cy Coleman's Broadway leading ladies invite you to a celebratory shindig buoyed by talent, palpably warmed by affection. Sometimes orchestrated as a harmonizing girl group and at others in distinctively different solo turns, Lillias White, Cady Huffman, and Randy Graff offer a banquet of Coleman's oeuvre in the 54 Below revue, My Guy Cy, which opened Friday night (and played again the following night). Arrangements by various musicians are texturally piquant, showcasing uncommon skill when interweaving songs. SPARKLE & CIRCULATE with JUSTIN SAYRE - the official monthly podcast of the International Order of Sodomites - has posted the seventh episode, which features an in-depth conversation with Carl Siciliano, founder of the Ali Forney Center, which provides shelter and services for homeless LGBT youth. The show is available on iTunes here.  Every June, Sayre's event Night of a Thousand Judys honors Judy Garland for Pride and raises money for the organization. Carl explains how the center was formed, who Ali Forney was and the challenges they face with fundraising.
