The first Broadway revival of the 1982 Tony Award?-winning musical based on the classic film 8 1/2. Antonio Banderas, Laura Benanti, Jane Krakowski, Mary Stuart Masterson, and Chita Rivera lead the cast.



Nine revolves around one central character, Guido Contini (played by Banderas in his Broadway debut), a film director in the Fellini mold. He is contracted to write and direct a film, but is unable to come up with a suitable plot. After recent box office failures, he finds himself drifting towards a nervous breakdown. Guido finds himself examining his past flawed relationships with the many women who have come through his life and the struggle to act his mature age of 40--as opposed to nine.

The Metropolitan Opera Opens Gates to the Public for Free

For the first time, the lobby of the Metropolitan Opera House will be open to the public, free of charge, on weekday mornings (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.) beginning Tuesday, October 4 and continuing through the end of the opera season. Visitors to the Met can walk up the famous grand staircase of the opera house, admire the iconic crystal chandeliers, or step out onto the balcony overlooking Lincoln Center Plaza. Personal photography will be permitted in all public areas of the house, allowing tourists or locals to capture a picture of a classic New York moment. In addition, a large television monitor will give visitors a live look at what's happening on the Met stage, where rehearsals happen every morning for the 225 opera performances the company presents each season. Sheila Donnelly Pens LIFE'S JOURNAL OF FAITH

'Life's Journal of Faith' is a book based on a life portrayed through poetry, written with the honesty and clarity of a life well-lived. 'Life's Journal of Faith' is the creation of published author Sheila Donnelly. She is the daughter of James O Brien Donnelly, born in Armagh, Ireland, and was an active participant in the Irish Revolution against England from 1917-1921. She is the youngest of the three surviving children, once totaling Nine. She spent her first eight years on a farm in Maryland and graduated from Towson Catholic High School. Being the daughter of a man who experienced much adventure and travel, she joined the U.S. Navy and remained there for seven years. After years of traveling and relocating, she settled in Chaparral, New Mexico. However, her adventures are not over, for life, she feels, is to be experienced and enjoyed to the fullest, as God planned. (more...)
