TCG to Publish 100 MONOLOGUES by Eric Bogosian, May 2014; Website Features Monologues Performed by NYC Actors

Next month TCG Publications will release 100 (Monologues), a collection of all of award-winning writer-actor Eric Bogosian's monologues from the series of acclaimed solo shows he wrote and starred in off-Broadway beginning in the mid '80's. The publication will include monologues by the three-time Obie Award and Drama Desk winner from his solo shows Drinking in America; Sex, Drugs, Rock & Roll; Pounding Nails in the Floor with My Forehead, Wake Up and Smell The Coffee, FunHouse and Men Inside, as well as selections from his play Talk Radio (more...)

The Wild Root Company, a new production endeavor committed to developing new works from emerging playwrights and screenwriters, announced today full casting and creative team for its one-night-only benefit reading of Gloria, a brand new screenplay adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's masterpiece The Beautiful and Damned. All profits raised from the evening, which will take place at The Mainstage at Playwrights Horizons on Monday January 6, 2014 at 8:00 pm, will go to the Ali Forney Center for Homeless LGBTQ Youth. Broadway legend, Tony and Drama Desk Award winner Dick Latessa (Broadway's The Lyons, Promises, Promises, Brighton Beach Memoirs) will star in the reading directed by two-time Drama Desk Award nominee Ed Sylvanus Iskandar (Restoration Comedy, These Seven Sicknesses). George Bartenieff plays an out-sized captain of industry who privatizes and is ultimately undone by state-sponsored torture in 'Another Life,' written and directed by Karen Malpede, a surreal play that is based on real post-9/11 events. The play, written in a fast-paced lyric language, is based on research, interviews, testimonies, the words of torturers and tortured. It has been widely praised by experts in the field of human rights for its inventiveness, power and ability to create empathy. Theater for the New City will present the piece March 28 to April 21, accompanied by 'A Festival of Conscience,' a series of free post-play dialogues and panels with prominent lawyers, writers and activists, and readings of Malpede's play, 'Extreme Whether,' a story of heroic climate scientists facing censorship. Hamish Linklater's THE VANDAL Will Be Filmed for Broadcast

The Flea has announced that Thirteen WNET will be filming the critically acclaimed production of THE VANDAL on March 29. A broadcast date has not been slated. Written by actor Hamish Linklater (School for Lies, Twelfth Night, Recent Tragic Events & The Busy World is Hushed, and TV's The New Adventures of Old Christine), The Vandal runs through March 31.
