Olivier Award-winner and Tony Award-nominee Anthony Boyle (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) will join the cast of Long Day's Journey into Night, playing the role of Edmund Tyrone. He will be replacing Alex Lawther who has reluctantly withdrawn from the production due to a scheduling conflict.

The new expanded edition of the soundtrack to the film HOOK, will feature songs from when a musical version of the film was in the works. In a 2021 interview, Steven Spielberg revealed that the movie was originally meant to be a musical, but he changed his mind. Now you can hear some of the original songs meant for that musical version, when this new soundtrack is released on December 1.

The Max Original documentary, provides a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the upcoming movie musical reimagining of “The Color Purple.” Oprah Winfrey will take viewers inside the four-decade phenomenon, exploring the importance of the novel, films and musical, and the ever-evolving conversation around this seminal work.

Ruth Stage has released all new production photos from their off-Broadway premiere of James McLure’s dark comedy Lone Star. Lone Star is currently in preview performances, with an Opening Night set for this Sunday, December 3rd at Theatre Row. Check out the photos here!

The album will feature songs from the musical sung by Taraji P. Henson, Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, Halle Bailey, H.E.R., Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, and Fantasia Barrino. Following her performance in The Little Mermaid, Halle Bailey is continuing her year by playing Nettie in The Color Purple movie musical. Bailey plays Nettie, the younger sister of Celie, who is first played by Phylicia Pearl Mpasi before Fantasia Barrino takes on the mature version. Nettie is later played by Ciara. Watch the video!

COACHELLA VALLEY REPERTORY has announced casting for its World Premiere production of SUMMER SESSION WITH THE BONES BRIGADE, a dramatic original work by playwright KIRBY FIELDS. Adam Karsten, CVRep Executive Artistic Director, is directing SUMMER SESSION WITH THE BONES BRIGADE.

Playhouse on Park will present Steve Young's hilarious film about corporate musical theater. There will be two showings at Playhouse on Park in West Hartford, CT: Sunday, December 10th at 7pm and Monday, December 11th at 2pm.

The Grammy Award-winning Houston Chamber Choir will present a special screening of the Bradley Cooper biographical drama Maestro, about Leonard Bernstein, with a guest appearance by Jamie Bernstein, Leonard’s daughter.

Ahead of the film's Netflix debut, check out new photos of Bradley Cooper and Carey Mulligan in the film, including shots on set with producer Steven Spielberg. The Shark Is Broken takes its final bow at the John Golden Theatre following 18 previews and 116 regular performances; Jaja's African Hair Braiding wraps up at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre following  21 previews and 56 regular performances; and Melissa Etheridge: My Window concludes its run at the Circle in the Square Theatre following 8 previews and 44 regular performances.
