The award-winning companies VS. Theatre and Firefly Theater & Films are co-producing the West Coast Premiere of a newly revised version of Itamar Moses' COMPLETENESS. The production will be directed by Philadelphia's multi-Barrymore Award-nominee and F. Otto Haas Award-winning director Matt Pfeiffer and will feature Steven Klein, Emily Swallow, Nicole Erb and Rob Nagle. COMPLETENESS will preview tonight, November 6 at 8pm and will open on Friday, November 7 at 8pm and will run through Sunday, December 7 at VS. Theatre, 5453 W. Pico Blvd. in Los Angeles. (more...)

Garden Grove is about to get a whole lot funnier with the integration of the critically acclaimed Troubadour Theatre Company's rendition of A Midsummer Saturday Night's Fever Dream in Shakespeare/Summerfest Orange County's 2014 season. This play-off of Shakespeare's classic comedy, directed by Matt Walker, tells this story of magic potions and foolish lovers through some of disco's greatest hits. The production includes a cast made up of acrobats, musicians, improvisers, and clowns, as well as a four piece band and an almost entirely improvised second act. (more...)

Hunter's oh-so-engrossing and oh-so-funny new play now having its world premiere at Costa Mesa's South Coast Repertory through April 27---presents a disheartening reality of life we all must face sooner or later: that getting older is, for the most part, no fun, especially as one enters the twilight phase of their time on the planet. While that description suggests an overtly sad story, what really hits you as a delightful surprise is the amount of wit and humor that it contains, even as the play's overarching dark themes are hovering.
