Florence + the Machine Play Final Show of High As Hope Tour

Last night, Florence + the Machine played the second of two sold-out shows in the Odeon of Herodes Atticus, the nearly 2000-year-old theater in the Acropolis of Athens, Greece. The show was the culmination of 18 months of touring behind her latest album, High As Hope.

Chicago Humanities Festival Announces 30th Anniversary Fall Festival Line-up

Building on the momentum of a powerful series of fall kick-off events, the Chicago Humanities Festival is excited to announce the full lineup for its 30th Fall Festival. Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, author Jonathan Safran Foer, historian Ibram X. Kendi, comedian and The New York Times Magazine's a?oejudgea?? John Hodgman, poet Nikki Giovanni, Black Flag frontman Henry Rollins, and Senator Sherrod Brown (D-Ohio) will all be part of CHF's endeavor to explore Power this fall. Returning Festival favorites including poet and musician Patti Smith, novelist Salman Rushdie, and historian Sarah Vowell will return to Chicago this fall. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. is this year's Chicago Tribune Literary Prize recipient.

Screaming Females Announce 'Singles Too' Compilation

Out October 18th, Singles Too collects Screaming Females' complete non-album recordings, gathering together early 7” singles, digital-only b-sides, and one pretty great remix. The download and CD will also feature six cover songs, including the New Jersey trio's takes on music by Neil Young, Taylor Swift, Sheryl Crow, and Patti Smith. The vinyl version of the album will be a one-time pressing limited to 1500 copies.
