For the first time ever, the Great American Songbook Foundation will provide streaming online coverage of key events from its annual Songbook Academy summer intensive, the nation's only youth music intensive focused on the timeless standards of pop, jazz, Broadway and Hollywood.

Motéma Music has announced the November 13th release of 'Party of Four,' sophomore release from the acclaimed Motema artists, The Royal Bopsters.

Forty of the nation's top high school vocalists have been selected to participate in the 2020 Songbook Academy® summer intensive, a week of personal instruction and mentoring from arts and entertainment professionals presented each year by the Great American Songbook Foundation.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater have announced their lineup of artists for March 16 through March 29: 

The 40 national finalists at this year's Songbook Academy® summer intensive can expect business tips as well as musical insights when pianist-arranger Scott Bradlee, creator of the multimedia Postmodern Jukebox empire, makes his debut as one of the Academy's professional mentors.

Known for amazing harmony and versatility, incorporating pop, jazz, R&B, rock and roll, swing, symphonic and a cappella music, The Manhattan Transfer will perform at the McCallum Theatre at 8:00pm, Saturday, March 21. The show is made possible through the generosity of Harold Matzner. The Manhattan Transfer has become a cornerstone of contemporary music. Originally launched by Tim Hauser in 1969, the group consisted of Hauser, Alan Paul, Janis Siegel and Laurel Masse in 1972. Cheryl Bentyne joined the group in 1979 after Laurel Masse left following a car accidenta?"and that lineup would perform together for some 35 years.

Last evening, the American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC) ended an incredible week celebrating and preserving all styles of classic American music with the 2020 Finals at the Savannah Cultural Arts Center in historic downtown Savannah, GA.

Last evening at Skidaway Island United Methodist Church (SIUMC), the American Traditions Vocal Competition (ATC) announced this year's group of talented vocalists selected by judges Morgan James, Janis Siegel, and Jubilant Sykes to progress to the Semifinals.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are pleased to present the schedule for the month of February! At Birdland Jazz Club, catch the iconic Lionel Hampton Big Band Featuring Jason Marsalis, current GRAMMY nominee Catherine Russell, the Birdland debut of AGUAS Trio with Omar Sosa, Yilian Cañizares and Gustavo Ovalles, and iconic vocalist Jane Monheit. Internationally recognized trumpeter Rachel Therrien, the Seth Weaver Big Band, and The Voice contestant Melinda Rose Rodriguez will also be performing upstairs. 

U.S. high school singers with interests in musical theater, jazz and classic popular music can apply now to experience a life-changing week of performance opportunities and personal mentoring from Broadway stars and other arts and entertainment professionals.

The Broadway at Birdland concert series was proud to present “Celestial Being,” the 80th Birthday Celebration concert celebrating jazz legend Andy Bey.  The one-night-only event will took place on Monday, December 9.

Myriam Phiro, the french-Canadian chanteuse who's garnered accolades both as a Jazz singer and as a cabaret performer returns to Birdland with her Edith Piaf tribute CD release show.

Cortland Repertory Theatre Downtown at 24 Port Watson Street in Cortland is proud to present The Jazz Ensembles from Cornell University with a unique and exciting concert on Friday October 25 at 7:30 PM. Directed by Paul Merrill, the talented student musicians will present a concert entitled 'Mythology, Folklore, and Freedom: Train Imagery in Early Blues, Folk, Jazz and Pop.' With a central theme of songs about trains and a?oeriding the railsa??, the concert features music by Johnny Cash, Duke Ellington, Bob Marley, Arlo Guthrie, Thelonious Monk, Lead Belly, Elizabeth Cotton, Henry Thomas, Mary Lou Williams, and The O'Jays.  Special guest musician/singer Miché Fambro will also join the group, bringing his own unique sound to the concert.  Tickets for $10.00 for adults and seniors, and $8.00 for youth under 22.
