Hello Mary - which was produced by Bryce Goggin (Pavement /Luna) - references alternative rock of the nineties alongside Elliott Smith and Jeff Buckley as influences, heard most vividly on the album’s simmering closer “Burn it Out,” but their contemporaries are bands like Palberta, Spirit of the Beehive, and Palehound.

Fullam has had a passion for music his whole life. From the age of nine, Elliott has been the host of Little Punk People, a music interview show that boasts 93 thousand subscribers on YouTube in which he’s chatted with the likes of James Hetfield of Metallica (viewed 1.7 million times), J Mascis, Ice-T, Jay Weinberg of Slipknot and many more.

How It Ends followed a string of standout 2021 releases including the Jockeys of Love EP, and “Beach Coma,” a Gabe Wax-produced single. The duo, who also work with Jay Som’s Melina Duterte on production and recording work, mixed the track alongside Brandon Shoop, while Grammy-nominated Joe Lambert mastered.

Featuring classic Shoegaze fused with elements of dream-pop, chillwave, and vintage synthy soundscapes complimented by bits of experimental quirk, the inviting set features prior singles 'Take Me Up Again,' and the reverb-drenched 'Dream State (I'm Vanishing)' alongside tracks that expand the album’s emotional palette.

The result is a record that begs and rewards repeated listenings, 9 songs and 41 minutes including a reimagined song from his band The Life and Times. Mallbangs shares the final single from their upcoming EP Checking For Daggers, “Make Believe.' Following prior singles “New Face” and “You Can Have It All,” “Make Believe” carries a markedly more positive disposition. Mallbangs’ mastermind Aidy (they/them) delivers a sunny, buoyant song about questioning one's gender identity.

The soundtrack was composed by developer and game designer Tim Sheinman (Rivals, Family) with lyrics co-written by Natalia Yanchak (The Dears). Riley & Rochelle tells the story of two musicians from different sides of the tracks as they find their voices, ascend into superstardom, fall in love, and fall apart.

“How It Ends,” on its face, is an upbeat folk-rock track that belies the anxiety that weaves throughout the song. Following the devastating deadbeat dad song, “Flake”, “How It Ends” is another deeply personal yet broadly applicable song where TOLEDO bare their most private fears and struggles in an act of vulnerability that shines.

MAITA's fall tour begins on September 16 in Enterprise, OR and Terminal Gravity Brewfest and will include shows in Chicago, Pittsburgh, New York City, Boston, Nashville, Seattle, San Diego, Los Angeles, Portland, a festival performance at Lincoln Calling and more.
