 A veritable 'who's who' of respected Canadian theatre leaders have come together to found the Canadian Guild of Stage Directors and Choreographers (CGDC).

The Shaw Festival has announced its 61st season. A mix of classics, real hidden gems, new works and a variety of voices will be seen, heard and experienced in both their indoor and outdoor spaces next season.

Theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) announced the release of Dramatic Moments, the first product from MTI Classroom, which is an inspiring collaboration between theatre teachers, students, authors and industry professionals designed to elevate arts education. MTI Classroom lets theatre practitioners and fans engage with the shows and musical theatre authors they know and love.

Bridgetown Conservatory of Musical Theatre has announced the cast of its May 2022 in-person live production of The Theory of Relativity, by Neil Bartram and Brian Hill. The production will take place May 19 through May 22, 2022 in Bridgetown's new Black Box Theatre. After postponing the production in 2020, and again in 2021, Bridgetown has high hopes for a successful third try.

The Shaw Festival’s 60th season will continue with performances of the romantic musical comedy Damn Yankees, psychological thriller Gaslight and surreal tour de force Too True to Be Good. All three shows will begin welcoming audiences to preview performances in the coming days and weeks.

Artistic Director Tim Carroll has announced casting and creative teams for the Shaw Festival’s 60th anniversary season.

The show’s musical numbers use a playful treatment of the laws of physics as a background to the movement of human bodies and lives, as they attract, collide, couple and separate.  Individually and in harmony, the ensemble members sing of relationships beginning, ending, changing and enduring, and ultimately of our relationship to all the others in our world.  Oh, and to cats of course.

This heart-warming musical follows the friendship of Alvin and Thomas, two men from a small town. These lifelong friends are reunited after Alvin's mysterious death. In the abstract world of his mind, Thomas struggles to write Alvin's eulogy while recounting the many turns that their lives have taken since meeting as children. Alvin searches through the manuscripts and stories in Thomas' mind to lead him on a journey of remembrance. Through music and song, these two friends recount their adventures, explore their past dissonance and ultimately discover what is at the base of every strong friendship... love. 'Where did all the happy endings go? Where can all the good times be?' When West End stalwart Dianne Pilkington enchanted the audience yesterday evening at the press night of Bedknobs and Broomsticks with The Sherman Brothers' 'The Age of Not Believing', perhaps the 1971 Disney film's most iconic number, I couldn't help but think about we have all endured over the past year and a half.

The UK tour of Bedknobs and Broomsticks began performances at Newcastle Theatre Royal on Saturday 14 August 2021!  The UK Tour is now extended through to March 2022. The tour includes a 5-week Christmas season at Leeds Grand Theatre.

THE THEORY OF RELATIVITY, the moving and unconventional song cycle bursts with originality as it examines the interconnectedness of us all through life's shared experiences - from the hilarious to the heartbreaking.​ The production is now on stage through September 4th, 2021.
