Due to overwhelming response to January's limited run, Burbank's Colony Theatre is bringing back the critically acclaimed 2018 LA production of The Diary of Anne Frank.

Brad Zimmerman's newest show, My Son the Waiter:  A Jewish Tragedy & Still Not Famous will make its South Florida debut March 22nd and 23rd at the Boca Black Box Center for the Arts. 

Among the members who signed the statement of support for the CROWN Act are Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington, and dozens of other performers. In the letter, members assert, “Discrimination based on hair style or texture is a destructive practice that has alienated and caused irreparable harm to Black Americans.”

In its seventh year of touring nationally, My Son the Waiter: A Jewish Tragedy will make its Washington, DC premiere at the Aaron & Cecile Goldman Theater Edlavitch DCJCC (Theater J) from July 21 to August 21, 2022.

After nine days, 84 feature films and 59 short films, the juries have deliberated and the audience has voted, and Friday night the 2022 Sundance Film Festival’s Awards were announced. The award-winning films will screen online on the Festival platform on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30. Tickets for all award screening films are now on sale.

The SHU Community Theatre will present a month of film programming in November. Thursday, Nov. 4 & Friday, Nov. 5 at 7 p.m.: The Auschwitz Report. The harrowing true story of Freddy and Walter, two young Slovak Jews deported to Auschwitz in 1942.

The series follows Peggy (Arquette), an addict, who decides to pursue becoming a private investigator after the death of her beloved mother (Peters), with whom she resided in the small desert town of Yucca Valley, California, causes her to start a new life.

The 25th anniversary of Serenades of Life - Doctors in Concert benefiting Nathan Adelson will be presented at The Smith Center on Oct. 2.

Big Shot centers around Marvyn Korn, played by John Stamos, after he is ousted from his position as head coach for an NCAA basketball team. He is given a chance at redemption with a coaching position at Westbrook, an elite private high school for girls and soon learns that the teenage players require empathy and vulnerability.

 'Maybe someone will hear this and say, 'Hey, this seems like a no-brainer.' I think people like the show, I think they would like to see the cast together. Again, I think they would like to revisit some of the highlights and outtakes from the show.'

The program opened with a surprise greeting from Ringo Starr and from that point on, donations poured in by phone, online, and text…and they're still coming in. They sent out a call for love, and Los Angeles answered with donations big and small. People calling in were not only giving $5, $10, $100, they were telling stories to volunteers about the son they lost to AIDS, or their own cancer battle, or their friend who has survived because of Project Angel Food.
