Pantochino's Summer Theatre Camp to Debut New Musical Spoof Today

Award-winning Pantochino Productions Inc., Connecticut's 'Ridiculously Entertaining' non profit theatre company, will debut it's new musical spoof, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Outlet Store" at 4pm, Friday, July 25th at the Center for the Arts in Milford as part of it's Summer Theatre Camp series.

"Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Outlet Store" is a musical parody featuring thirty young actors age 7 to 13 years old. During the five day camp, cast members learns, rehearse and performs the original show written especially for the group by Bert Bernardi and Justin Rugg. The musical numbers are choreographed by Brittany Wigglesworth and the camp is under the direction of Jimmy Johansmeyer. This marks the camps third year of production in Milford.

This year, the five one-week sessions of camp have also included original productions of "Snow Dude," based on the book by Daniel Kirk, "The Wizard of Oz (Sort Of!)," "Beauty and the Beast (Sort Of!)" and the upcoming debut of The Theatre Games Camp in which thirty young actors will compete in a week-long series of acting, improv, song and dance challenges featuring special guest and judges.

Pantochino's Summer Theatre Camps are sponsored in part by the Milford Arts Council. During the five week program, 150 young actors will take part the one-of-a-kind program. "We're thrilled to see so many youngsters from all over New Haven and Fairfield counties taking part in this unique program," said Johansmeyer. "We sold out all five camps back in March-they have become very popular and kids love doing our shows," he added.
