Dan Layus has confirmed a headline tour for January and February 2017. The tour will kick off in Austin and make stops in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, Boston, Washington D.C. and Brooklyn among others. The new dates follow a European headline run, dates with The Dixie Chicks, a stop at AmericanaFest and a debut performance at the Grand Ole Opry. Of his live show, Rolling Stone Country says, "The guy's got a killer voice, armed with a Jeff Buckley-sized vibrato that both fills a room and packs a punch." Tickets will go on sale Friday, December 9 at 10AM local time.
Layus will be performing songs from his debut solo album, Dangerous Things, which was released to widespread critical acclaim-The Boot praises the album's "from-the-heart lyrics with minimalist production," while Twangville hails "...he's got a sound now that stands out from the rest of the folk/country singer-songwriters trying to get your attention...it's bewitching." Dangerous Things spans influences from Hank Williams to Tom Waits, from Dwight Yoakam to Woody Guthrie. The album was recorded in Nashville at SouthxSea Studios with minimal production. The lyrics are about life's struggles and its simple joys, and harmonies are provided by Muscle Shoals' own The Secret Sisters. DANGEROUS THINGS TRACK LISTINGVideos
