The producers of the Tony Award-winning Matilda The Musical announced last week that the original Broadway cast recording will be produced by Michael Croiter and Christopher Nightingale for Broadway Records/Yellow Sound Label and will be released digitally and be available at the Shubert Theatre beginning Friday, September 27, 2013. Internationally acclaimed singer/songwriter and Grammy Award-winner Luis Fonsi just joined the company of Luis Bravo's internationally acclaimed entertainment phenomenon, Forever Tango for two weeks only. The acclaimed pop star will perform nightly at Broadway's Walter Kerr Theatre (219 W 48th Street), through Sunday, September 1, 2013. The PETER AND THE STARCATCHER National Tour started performances at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in Denver, CO on August 15, 2013. PETER AND THE STARCATCHER is the five-time Tony Award winning musical play written by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice and directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Reesand Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers. The 17-week limited engagement of the critically-acclaimed revival of The Glass Menagerie begins performances at the Booth Theatre (222 W 45th Street) on Thursday, September 5, 2013, and opens on Thursday, September 26th. The production will star multiple Tony and Emmy Award-winner Cherry Jones as Amanda Wingfield, film and stage star Zachary Quinto as Tom, two-time Tony-nominee Celia Keenan-Bolger as Laura, and Brian J. Smith as Jim, the Gentleman Caller. The cast met the press earlier this week and you can check out more photos here.

Earlier this week, the beloved Broadway tradition continued when Sardi's added the caricature of Kristine Nielsen to its legendary walls in a surprise unveiling by David Hyde Pierce. BroadwayWorld was there for the special event and you can check out more photos here!

Two of the most iconic plays of the 20th Century, Harold Pinter's NO MAN'S LAND and Samuel Beckett's WAITING FOR GODOT will open on Broadway at the Cort Theatre, 138 West 48th Street, this fall. Starring Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, Billy Crudup and Shuler Hensley directed by Sean Mathias, the productions are currently playing at Berkeley Rep. Broadway performances will begin Saturday, October 26 at 8pm. The official opening is Sunday, November 24, 2013. Click here for more photos of the cast in action!

ONCE, the Tony and Grammy Award winning Best New Musical, in in the midst of "ONCE WEEK", during which the show is having a lottery to distribute 20 free tickets per performance. Fans are invited to come to the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre (242 West 45th Street) for free events, prizes and a chance to win FREE tickets to the show. To celebrate the show's dedicated fans, the cast gave a special performance outside of the theatre yesterday and you can check out more photos here!

Just yesterday, Cuba Gooding Jr. was joined by Sardi's president Max Klimavicius and cast members of Broadway's TRIP TO BOUNTIFUL to unveil his Sardi's caricature. BroadwayWorld was there for the special event and you can check out complete photo coverage here!

The national tour of the Tony Award Nominated Best Revival of a Musical and smash hit production of Tim Rice's and Andrew Lloyd Webber's EVITA kicks off on September 8th at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Providence, RI. The national tour of EVITA will star Caroline Bowman (Kinky Boots) as Eva Peron, Tony nominated Josh Young (Jesus Christ Superstar) as Che and Sean MacLaughlin (Woman in White) as Juan Peron.
