Gingold Theatrical Group's PROJECT SHAW, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, continues its 11th Season when it presents its 114th concert presentation with George Bernard Shaw's GENEVA on Monday, June 20 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

Written and first produced in 1938, Geneva is a wildly satirical political comedy. In it, a German Jew arrives in Geneva demanding a summit meeting designed to contain the increasingly dangerous behavior of three dictators, Herr Battler, Signor Bombardone, and General Flanco (parodies of Hitler, Mussolini and Franco). The three are brought before the International Criminal Court of the League of Nations to justify their atrocities.

Geneva features Lauren Molina (Begonia Brown), Rory O'Malley (The Jew), James Ludwig (The Newcomer), Julie Halston (The Widow), Michael Riedel (The Journalist), James Prendergast (The Bishop), Tim Jerome (Commisar Posky), Marc Vietor (The Secretary), Paxton Whitehead (Sir Orpheus Midlander), Bill Army (The Betrothed), Jay O. Sanders (The Judge), Victor Slezak (Bombardone), Jack Gilpin (Battler), Andrew Weems (General Flanco), and Christine Pedi (Deaconess).

According to Staller, "This biting comedy, written on the brink of WWII, is a brilliant satire of everything that goes wrong in a political system. Shaw saw so clearly how people were desperately clinging to the largest possible political personalities making the most outrageous claims and promises, and the danger of allowing these media stars to go unchecked. Clearly, nothing has changed."

Tickets for these script-in-hand performances are $35 and are available by calling (212) 864-5400 or online at www.symphonyspace.org / Special reserved VIP seating available by contacting the Gingold office 212-355-7823 or info@gingoldgroup.org.

Now celebrating its 11th year, Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw made history in December 2009 as the first company ever to present performances of every one of Shaw's 65 plays (including full-length works, one-acts and sketches). They are now also including plays by writers who most inspired Shaw to begin his playwriting career, including work by Chekhov, Ibsen, Wilde, Barrie and Harley Granville-Barker.

Each Project Shaw event is followed by a talk-back with special guests and cast members.
