Today marks the long-awaited Blu-ray debut of one of Disney's most beloved classics, the one and only MARY POPPINS, which arrives in a Blu/DVD/Digital combo pack on December 10.

Of note, three days after the release of MARY POPPINS on Blu-ray will mark the opening of the new Walt Disney-centric semi-autobiographical feature film, SAVING MR. BANKS, starring Tom Hanks and Emma Thompson (who herself knows a thing or two about nannies given her prior starring role in NANNY MCPHEE).

The new Blu-ray edition of MARY POPPINS boasts a "Mary-oke" sing-a-long, as well as a featurette titled "Becoming Mr. Sherman". Of course, MARY POPPINS features one of the most beloved Disney scores of all time, as composed by the incomparable Sherman Brothers, highlighted by such gems as "A Spoonful Of Sugar", "Chim Chim Cher-ee", "Feed The Birds" and the intoxicating "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious".

MARY POPPINS stars Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke and is based on the book by PL Travers. It was directed by Robert Stevenson from a screenplay by Bill Walsh and Don DaGradi.

Since the debut of the film in 1964, MARY POPPINS has gone on to enjoy success on home video and DVD - most recently in a 45th Anniversary DVD Special Edition - as well as feature into the enduring popularity of the stage adaptation co-produced by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh, as well.
