JOB from Incubator Theatre Comes to Israel Festival

A new oratorio to the book of "Job" will premiere at the 2017 Israel Festival in Jerusalem

The play, from The Incubator Theatre, is based on the tragic story of Job and for the first time was adapted into a musical creation based on the biblical text.

The Book of Job is a biblical tragedy written as a play, divided to acts and dialogues between the characters. Written around the time when Sophocles' Oedipus and the Greek tragedies of the 5th century BC were written. The text, edited according to the book, raises fundamental questions regarding reward and punishment, perceived morality and belief, etc, as such questions are still relevant these days. In this play adaptation Job's wife becomes a central character, as a mother and wife who is lamenting and opposes against God, as opposed to the book which where she was mentioned in merely one line.
