Chasta Hamilton Calhoun to Choreograph Theatre In The Park's A CHRISTMAS CAROL

Theatre In The Park will welcome Chasta Hamilton Calhoun to the A Christmas Carol family.

Chasta will serve as the choreographer for the 40th Anniversary of A Christmas Carol. She is the Owner/Artistic Director of Stage Door Dance Productions and the Founder/Editor of The Dance Exec. A 2007 Park Scholar Alumna of NC State University, Chasta graduated summa cum laude with a degree in Arts Applications/Administration (Emphasis: Theatre) and a Minor in Film Studies.

"I am so excited and honored to be a part of A Christmas Carol's 40th Anniversary Production. We have a lot of exciting, creative ideas in store, and it is going to be so rewarding to be a part of an event that is a local, yet internationally recognized, treasure. Theatre In The Park has welcomed me with open arms, and I cannot wait to get to work. It is going to be a lot of fun!" says Calhoun.

Chasta is currently a Director for Dance Masters of America, Carolina Dance Masters , and a member of the Leadership Council of the Junior League of Raleigh. She has choreographed for Athens Drive High School's Theatre Department (2014 Triangle Rising Star Recognition for Outstanding Choreography) and Deep Dish Theatre. In 2012, Chasta received the Goodman Award for Regional Leadership Excellence in the Area of the Arts, and in 2014, Chasta was named to the Triangle Business Journal's 40 Under 40.

A Christmas Carol will be performed at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts Memorial Auditorium December 10-14 and at the Durham Performing Arts Center December 18-21.
