Aided in part by the popularity of FUN HOME, the Tony-winning Broadway musical based on Alison Bechdel's graphic memoir, The Bechdel Test has in recent years, become deeply ingrained into American pop culture and gender activism.

Bechdel wrote about the concept of not supporting films that don't have at least two female characters who talk to each other about something other than a man in a 1985 episode of her comic strip "Dykes To Watch Out For."

Bechdel Project is a Brooklyn based, non-profit company dedicated to telling stories on stage and screen that pass the Bechdel Test. Through development, production, advocacy and education, Bechdel Project works toward a mission of changing our culture by changing the stories we tell.

The company will be celebrating Valentine's Day, February 14th with an interactive workshop, ROMANCE REMADE - A Valentine's Odyssey, described as "a playful and profound hour that will change the way you see romance forever. Fun for men, women, singles, and couples.

Tickets are $10 for the 4pm event at 138 South Oxford St, Brooklyn, NY 11217.
