Woking based charity, LinkAble, has awarded the Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG) with a Special Recognition Award for its contributions and support for the charity.

The prize was presented to ATG's Joint CEO, Rosemary Squire OBE, who is also a patron for LinkAble, at the annual LinkAble Awards Dinner and Dance.

Since 1989 LinkAble has been serving people with learning disabilities by providing children and adults with a range of sporting, social and leisure activities in and around the community that would otherwise be unavailable.

LinkAble's Managing Director, Bob Stevens, said "I was especially delighted to present a Special Recognition award to Rosemary Squire and all those at the Ambassador Theatre Group. This award recognises the amazing support we receive from everyone at ATG, enabling us to continue our arts programme work with our service users. ATG's support helps LinkAble offer creative and fun opportunities to those with learning disabilities in the local community, opportunities that they would otherwise never receive."

Rosemary Squire, said "It was a real honour to receive the Special Recognition award from LinkAble, because they are a charity very close to my heart and do such inspirational work within my local community. Making theatre accessible for everyone is something that our company prides itself in and we have developed a wonderful partnership with LinkAble that helps people to develop their potential and enjoy socially inclusive fulfilled lives."
