Review: THE DA VINCI CODE at Theatre HarrisburgJune 21, 2025 The Da Vinci Code will be enjoyable both by newbies and big fans of the book. It provides thrills, chills, and has a great message about history, or rather, her-story. It runs now through June 29.
Review: CATS at Fulton TheatreJune 15, 2025Cats serves as Fulton Theatre’s final production for the 2024-25 season. They are fully committed to highlighting what works, and sidestepping some of its shortcomings.
Review: ROMEO + JULIET at EPACMay 18, 2025Galosi and Burdick are very believable in their characterizations and have more than enough shared chemistry to make the story work fantastically.
Review: FOREVER PLAID at Fulton TheatreApril 27, 2025While the show wasn’t my cup of tea, others will probably really appreciate its content. Tickets might make a good Mother’s Day gift for some. Your mileage may vary. Playing now through May 18th.
Review: ANASTASIA at Fulton TheatreApril 13, 2025Whether you are a fan of Russian history, 90’s animation, or musical theatre, Anastasia has something to appeal to everyone. Performances run now through May 11.
Review: GROUNDHOG DAY-THE MUSICAL at EPACMarch 23, 2025 Just in time for the first day of spring, EPAC presents the regional premiere of Groundhog Day-The Musical. The plot sticks pretty close to the framework of the 1993 Bill Murray classic.
Review: CIRQUE DU SOLEIL-OVO at Giant CenterMarch 22, 2025Many of the acts brought to mind what the infamous Spider-Man musical had the potential to be. There were dazzling flips, aerial stunts, and (my favorite) giant trampolines that propelled performers straight up a two story wall.
Review: JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR at Fulton TheatreFebruary 28, 2025Andrew Lloyd Webber's rock opera, Jesus Christ Superstar opened at the Fulton recently, just in time for the Lenten season. Aaron Lavigne stars as a relatively subdued Jesus. I would have liked to have seen more emotional range displayed in scenes like the cleansing of the temple and in numbers like the emotional gut punch of 'Gethsemane'.
Review: MURDER FOR TWO at Dutch Apple Dinner TheatreJanuary 19, 2025The show is 90 minutes with no intermission. Director, Victor Legarreta understands the farcical elements and keeps the action coming. However, funny, and fast are not synonymous. The coherency of the plot is sometimes sacrificed by the manic pace of the show. This is a flaw of the script, not this production.
Review: PRETTY WOMAN THE MUSICAL at Hershey TheatreJanuary 15, 2025Your appreciation of Pretty Woman the Musical is probably directly related to your familiarity and love of the movie. There is extensive dialogue, events, and costume call backs to the Julia Roberts classic. Some audience members (like my plus-one) loved this, while others might prefer to stay home and stream the original.
Review: HAMILTON at Hershey TheatreNovember 29, 2024 This production retains the same charm and value as what I have seen before, while adding a few additional tweaks to make it special.
Review: FROZEN at Fulton TheatreNovember 16, 2024Fulton’s Frozen brings imagination, creativity, and positivity to the Lancaster stage. Buy your tickets to this spectacle sooner rather than later.
