Review: SCISSORHANDZ: A MUSICAL REINVENTED, Southwark Playhouse Elephant by Mica Blackwell
- January 31, 2025 Much like the Inventor creating the titular character, Scissorhandz - A Musical Reinvented has a lot to love about it but could do with some tinkering to fix its narrative issues.

Review: JIN HAO LI: SWIMMING IN A SUBMARINE, Soho Theatre by Kat Mokrynski
- January 30, 2025 Jin Hao Li: Swimming in a Submarine is the first stand-up show I have been to in which, before the show starts, the comedian goes around the audience, giving each person a thumbs-up and asking, “You good?” It’s a surprise, but a welcome one that makes something immediately clear - Jin Hao Li is not your average comedian.
Review: DEMI ADEJUYIGBE IS GOING TO DO ONE (1) BACKFLIP, Soho Theatre by Kat Mokrynski
- January 30, 2025 Even before the show begins, Demi Adejuyigbe is Going To Do One (1) Backflip has me laughing with its preshow playlist, a fascinating tracklist of songs that have been turned into some absolutely wild mash-ups. From combining Taylor Swift and Chappell Roan to making a seamless transition from Kendrick Lamar to Fleetwood Mac, there are some surprisingly great ones - my particular favourite was ABBA’s “Dancing Queen” combined with Disturbed’s “Down with the Sickness!”

Review: THE GIFT, Park Theatre by Cindy Marcolina
- January 30, 2025 An anonymous package arrives in Colin’s post, sending him into a spiral. Whether it’s a revenge plan gone wrong or a silly prank, what Colin receives in an unassuming cake box disturbs him out of his mind. His sister Lisa and his best friend Brian (also Lisa’s boyfriend) try to help. Our imagination could have a field day as Colin unravels, but we're immediately told it's human excrement.

Review: INSIDE NO.9 STAGE/FRIGHT, Wyndham's Theatre by Alexander Cohen
- January 30, 2025 At its worst Inside No.9 Stage/Fright plays out like a greatest hits album. Familiar rhythms rewired into a thank you for the fans, who no doubt will vibrate with delight at some of the references to old episodes. Not much of a criticism when the endlessly inventive original is so salute worthily brilliant.
