Review: MAKE ME FEEL, Bush Theatre by Cindy Marcolina
- August 22, 2025 We meet Jamie and Ruby as they’re planning their wedding playlist. What follows is a collection of vignettes that lead up to the big day. Playwright Will Jackson drafts a flawed piece for the 18-25 Bush Young Company. Directed by Katie Greenall, it could be the personal exploration of a society that continuously forces us into our assigned roles, but it comes off as if the writing is simply ticking off a list of pertinent sociopolitical issues. Featuring anxiety, anti-genocide activism, eldest daughter syndrome, the housing crisis, suicide, and more, it’s a lot. Combine that with a cast of 17 young actors who all need to do something, and most productions would be in danger of becoming messy.
Review: THE LION, THE WITCH AND THE WARDROBE, Sadler’s Wells by Matthew Paluch
- August 22, 2025 If it ain't broke, don't fix it - but by all means develop it into a one-show-does-all situation, which is very much the case for The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe currently showing at Sadler’s Wells. The production is geared towards a younger audience, however anyone who goes won't be able to escape the magic and undeniably high level of the entire production.

Review: BBC PROMS: PAPPANO CONDUCTS PUCCINI AND STRAUSS, Royal Albert Hall by Debbie Gilpin
- August 20, 2025 How better to welcome the London Symphony Orchestra’s Chief Conductor to this year’s Proms than with an opera-themed programme? Sir Antonio Pappano is a vibrant character in the world of classical music, and the Royal Albert Hall felt like a fitting venue for him to showcase his continued passion for the artform; two powerful 20th century operas were the order of the day, performed to a packed out auditorium.

- August 20, 2025 Roald Dahl’s beastly reptile slithers into Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in a dazzling musical version which proves as entertaining for adults as it is for the children it is written for. Review: THE GATHERED LEAVES, Park Theatre by Louise Penn
- August 20, 2025 The Gathered Leaves has been away from the stage for a whole decade, but still intrigues. As each metaphorical leaf falls, we can’t help but keep watching thanks to the skill and commitment of the writer, director, cast and all involved. A theatrical treat.
With topics such as autism, dementia, racism, infidelity, and mortality threaded throughout The Gathered Leaves, there is much to explore and absorb in this play. It feels real without ever being forced or preachy.
Review: TWELFTH NIGHT, Shakespeare's Globe by Clementine Scott
- August 20, 2025 ‘This is Illyria,’ bellows the sea captain conveying the shipwrecked Viola to shore, in what is surely one of Shakespeare’s most straightforward opening lines. In Robin Belfield’s new production, that triumphant declaration serves as an introduction not just to Twelfth Night’s fictional Balkan setting, but also to the rich visual universe Belfield has conjured up onstage.
