Program 1: Balanchine's Apollo & Other Works at Vancouver Playhouse

Program 1: Balanchine's Apollo & Other Works opens Ballet Vancouver's debut season with a triple bill featuring guest principal dancers Heather Ogden of The National Ballet of Canada, Frances Chung of San Francisco Ballet, and Francesco Gabriele Frola of San Francisco Ballet. The program includes Balanchine's Apollo, a cornerstone of the neoclassical repertoire, alongside the Black Swan Pas de Deux from Swan Lake. Jorma Elo's Slice to Sharp, originally created for New York City Ballet's Diamond Project in 2006, receives its Canadian premiere, pairing modern movement with Baroque melodies.
