Ruby: The 40th Anniversary Concert at Christ Church Cathedral

Ruby is the crown jewel of Elektra’s 40th Anniversary Season – a celebration of the voices, the artistry, and the community that have shaped the choir’s remarkable journey.

At the heart of the concert is a new commission by acclaimed Canadian composer Alex Eddington, inspired by reflections shared by Elektra singers on the choir’s first 40 years. Centred on new and recent Canadian works, the program celebrates the creativity, resilience, and enduring spark that continue to define Elektra’s sound and spirit.

A special anniversary performance reunites Elektra and alumni singers, with co-founder Morna Edmundson returning to conduct one featured work before Artistic Director Cassie Luftspring leads the choir to a joyful finale celebrating 40 years of music for adult treble voices.
