Classic Stage Company anunciou o elenco completo de The Baker’s Wife, o lendário musical de Stephen Schwartz–Joseph Stein que nunca recebeu uma produção completa em Nova York antes.
Dirigida por Gordon Greenberg, a reestreia abrirá a temporada 2025–26 da CSC no Lynn F. Angelson Theater (136 East 13th Street), de 23 de outubro a 14 de dezembro, com a noite de abertura marcada para 11 de novembro de 2025.
Como previamente anunciado, a vencedora do Tony Ariana DeBose será Geneviève, oposta a Scott Bakula como Aimable Castagnet. Juntando-se a eles estão Savannah Lee Birdsong, Arnie Burton, o indicado ao Tony Robert Cuccioli, Alma Cuervo, o indicado ao Tony Kevin Del Aguila, Bill English, Zachary Freier-Harrison, Samantha Gershman, Nathan Lee Graham, a indicada ao Tony Judy Kuhn, Kelly Lester, Sally Murphy, Manu Narayan, Mason Olshavsky, Kevin William Paul, Will Roland, e Hailey Thomas.
O BroadwayWorld falou exclusivamente com Nathan Lee Graham, que compartilhou: "É emocionante trabalhar com uma das primeiras músicas de Stephen Schwartz. Em uma tranquila aldeia francesa, um padeiro e sua esposa trazem pão fresco… e fofocas frescas. Quando a tentação surge e os corações vagueiam, toda a cidade é envolvida em um turbilhão de romance, travessuras e melodia. A produção apresenta a partitura envolvente de Schwartz— incluindo a amada balada “Meadowlark”— e o livro de Stein baseado no filme La Femme du Boulanger de Marcel Pagnol e Jean Giono.
A equipe criativa inclui Stephanie Klemons (Coreografia), Charlie Alterman (Direção Musical), Jason Sherwood (Design de Cenário), Catherine Zuber (Design de Figurino), Bradley King (Design de Iluminação), e Jason Crystal (Design de Som). O casting é de The Telsey Office (Craig Burns, CSA).
