Wagner College Theatre presents William Inge’s classic Picnic, set against the backdrop of a sweltering Labor Day in a small Kansas town. The story highlights the emotional turmoil of a group of women as their lives are disrupted by the arrival of Hal Carter, a troubled drifter. Directed by Wagner alumnus Brian Sgambati, this production explores themes of desire and restlessness, breathing new life into a narrative that has resonated since its Pulitzer Prize win in 1953. The cast features Kenzie McGowan, Salvatore Romania, and Anna McCarty, among others, encapsulating the complexity and longing inherent in the piece.
