2019 Auditions Announced For The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy

The Luitingh Alexander Musical Theatre Academy (LAMTA) is a full-time tertiary Academy for the Performing Arts and is especially geared for training triple-threat performers for a career in the Arts. Duane Alexander and Anton Luitingh announced the Academy in April 2018 with the support and endorsement of Theatre Impresario, Pieter Toerien, who has been instrumental in the development of LAMTA. The brand new, sought after Academy is housed on the top floor of the beautiful Theatre on the Bay in Cape Town and boasts six stunning studios in the heart of Camps Bay. LAMTA opened its doors in January this year and has since enjoyed two hugely successful productions on the Theatre on the Bay stage with its first intake of 28 students.

They pay tribute to all three decades of the a?oeKing of Rock 'n Rolla??, Elvis Presley's career, i.e. the 1950's, '60s and '70s. The show is a mini-theatrical experience, featuring the dynamic vocal and visual performances of James and Monique, alternating as a duo and individual performers, who also do multiple costume changes throughout.

Children are accompanied by at least one parent/caregiver and remain with the caregiver for the duration of the performance (approx 45 minutes). Performances are relaxed and intimate with small audiences. The experience is multi-sensory, interactive and exploratory. The facilitators lead the young audience through a series of sea-themed experiences, stimulating sensory perception and a sense of wonderment.
