Welcome home, Bandstand! Earlier this week, a brand new musical took its place on Broadway at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre. Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Andy Blankenbuehler, (Hamilton) with music by Richard Oberacker and a book and lyrics by Robert Taylor and Richard Oberacker, Bandstand stars Corey Cott and Laura Osnes. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the sacred Gypsy Robe ceremony. On March 24, 2017, a group of Broadway professionals took to the stage at PS 125 in Harlem to be part of a panel called BROADWAY BOUND: Careers in the Theatre and Beyond. This special event panel was presented by Project Broadway in partnership with Harlem Grown. Over two hundred students between the ages of 7-12 from PS197, PS154, and PS125 came together to be part in an interactive panel where Broadway experts offered insight, education and advice on working on and off Broadway.  (more...)

On March 9th, 2017, Sing For Your Seniors (SFYS) hosted the latest in its series of Broadway Sessions with cast members from Cats for the LGBT seniors at SAGE Center Midtown. The musical performance, led by SFYS Session Leader Daniel Torres (Broadway: Beautiful, Evita, The Pirate Queen, The Woman in White, Off-Broadway: Altar Boyz, National Tour: Wicked), included songs of the performers' choosing as well as songs from Cats.
