A smash hit on and off-Broadway, this crowd-pleasing country-western musical features Prudie and Rhetta Cupp, from the Double Cupp Diner, singing and performing along with the talented boys from the gas station next door. Brimming with good humor, flirtation, and catchy songs that sound familiar even though they were written for the show, Pump Boys and Dinettes is a lighthearted musical with an emphasis on folksy comedy and romantic appeal. The original songs are mostly up tempo, with a few ballads sprinkled along the way to vary the pace and tone of the show.

SOMETHING TO VOTE FOR is a modern morality play, written in 1911 but has profound resonance for today. At the turn of the 20th century, children were dying at an alarming rate from Dysentery, Diphtheria, and Tuberculosis. The source of those diseases was traced back to bacteria infested milk. At the time, the American Dairy industry was unregulated and sanitation practices were careless and irresponsible. At the same time, the Anti-Women’s Suffrage movement was gaining momentum and it looked like women were never going to get the vote. It is with that backdrop that Charlotte Perkins Gilman wrote SOMETHING TO VOTE FOR.

Time: April 1911. Place: A cell, courthouse, and grave in Solon, Michigan. A young nun has died under mysterious circumstances in a remote parish in northern Michigan, and her superior, Father Rivard, has been charged with her murder. The action alternates between interrogations, testimony and scenes from the past which reveal that Father Rivard, who had been banished to the small, up-country parish, fell in love with Sister Rita; and when circumstances forced her to move into the rectory with him, his anguish became unbearable. Their relationship, inevitably, spelled tragedy, but not until the explosive and surprising climax of the play is the full extent of their sacrifice made clear and the identity of the murderer revealed!
