Hart House Theatre's production accentuates the laughs and touches only lightly on the play's social commentary, which is perhaps the best approach for this piece. Credit director Andrea Wasserman for creating a realistic world for these cartoon-like bumblers to inhabit. Though the performances sometimes veer a little too close to farcical territory -sometimes pushing too hard to get laughs- the end result is an enjoyable crowd-pleaser.

Hollywood and the L.A. scene are backdrops for this poignant and funny SCR-commissioned play about two entertainment industry couples whose lives-and lifestyles-converge in surprising ways. 'Homecoming' is the theme of Barrington Stage Company's 14th Season. The theatre that developed and premiered William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin's The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee on its Stage II in 2004 welcomes home the award-winning Broadway hit to its Mainstage from June 11 through July 12. Long-time BSC director Rob Ruggiero returns to direct Richard Greenberg's The Violet Hour, which will play July 17 through August 2. Julianne Boyd will direct Noel Coward's delicious battle-of-the-sexes comedy Private Lives starring Christopher Innvar from August 7 through 24. Private Lives marks the fifth stage collaboration between Boyd and Innvar.

Ralph Fiennes, Tamsin Greig, Janet McTeer and Ken Stott will star in God of Carnage, the new play by Yasmina Reza, which will open in London at the Gielgud Theatre on Tuesday 25 March after previews from 7 March. God of Carnage will be designed by Mark Thompson, with lighting by Hugh Vanstone, sound by Simon Baker and music by Gary Yershon. The play, which is translated by Christopher Hampton, will be directed by Matthew Warchus.
