John Lennon's iconic 1971 album Imagine, featuring his famous plea for peace and unity that imagines “all the people sharing all the world,” is being celebrated and intimately explored with a comprehensive box set, two acclaimed films and a beautiful book that was released just ahead of what would have been the legendary artist's 78th birthday (October 9).

Sardoville, a repertoire-esque theatre company fusing dance, design, art and word to tell stories that are moving and entertaining, was founded by Azzura Ardovini, Phil Sanger and Josh Wille, all former performers with Phoenix Dance Theatre, and presents For Only An Hour at Blue Elephant Theatre in London on Friday 16 and Saturday 17 November, and Trinity Community Arts in Bristol on Saturday 24 November as part of IGNiTE.

September 28 through to November 12, 2018, Baritone John Brancy will continue his collaboration with pianist Peter Dugan in an extensive 'A WWI Memorial in Song' tour in partnership with the WWI Centennial Commission. The pair have been redefining the art song recital since making their critically acclaimed debut of 'A Silent Night' at the Kennedy Center in 2014. Hailed by The Washington Post as 'so refreshingly, marvelously different,' the program pays homage to the centennial of World War I through the music of composers who lived through, fought in, and died in the Great War. Naperville's Wentz Hall (Cantigny Park, IL) is the first stop on the tour at a special concert event for the First Division Museum on September 28, 2018.

Multi award-winning actor/playwright and Theatre Rhinoceros Artistic Director John Fisher will take audiences on a whirlwind tour of the past with his acclaimed solo show A History of World War II: The D-Day Invasion to the Fall of Berlin at The Marsh San Francisco. Offering a compendium of facts about WWII from the bungled plot to assassinate Hitler ("A mess! Organized by a bunch of loser bureaucrats!") to the big secret - how the Russians won the war for us ("They did all the work!"), this lauded production also surveys the best books on the topic, as well as the most attractive generals who fought the battles and the hottest actors who played them in the movies. Capturing the Best Actor award from the 2017 United Solo Festival, this highly entertaining work also demonstrates how WWII helped Fisher win boyhood battles with his older brother.  A History of World War II: The D-Day Invasion to the Fall of Berlin  will be presented November 8-December 15, 2018 (press opening: November 17) with performances 8:00pm Thursdays and 8:30pm Saturdays at The Marsh San Francisco, 1062 Valencia St., San Francisco. Legendary filmmaker Steven Spielberg has been confirmed for the John Williams: Maestro of the Movies weekend at the Hollywood Bowl, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, August 31 through September 2. The weekend of movie music celebrates the 40th anniversary of Williams' Bowl debut with some of his biggest movie hits, including some selections performed with film clips. David Newman leads the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the first half of the program.
