NEWSIES, Disney's popular new musical about a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenage "newsies", will receive Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) Sixth Annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The honor is the only industry accolade of its kind and honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award will be presented in the Actors' Equity Association Council Room, overlooking Times Square, on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.

Stop the Presses! From their home at the Nederlander Theater, the cast of NEWSIES performed 'King of New York' during yesterday's Macy's Parade CBS broadcast. For the first time ever, television audiences had the opportunity to see a number performed on the stage of the Nederlander, where NEWSIES plays to sold-out crowds.

You've seen the League's announcement that alll of tomorrow (Tuesday) night's Broadway performances are cancelled. It's important to note that, for Mary Poppins, Newsies and The Lion King at least, the normal performance week is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, October 31, 2012.

Since bursting onto Broadway in March, Newsies set and then broke five Nederlander Theatre house records on its way to becoming the best selling new musical of the spring. The show received 23 major theatrical nominations -- including eight Tony Award nods -- and won Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for Score and Choreography. Newsies, the Tony® Award winning new American musical, has just announced that 2012 Tony Award nominee Ron Raines will temporarily join the cast in the role of Joseph Pulitzer on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 and will play the role through Sunday, December 16, 2012. He steps in for John Dossett, who will be starring in Giant at the Public Theater.

Multi-talented actress, singer, television host, playwright, songwriter and author Kathie Lee Gifford hosted this year's Broadway on Broadway on Sunday, September 9th, presented by United Airlines and The New York Times. CAROLS FOR A CURE is the annual two-disc holiday CD compilation of original songs and holiday classics which benefits BC/EFA. These CDs boast the best voices from the worlds of Broadway, Off-Broadway and national tours. A full track list for this year's 14th edition has not yet been announced, but the cast of Broadway's NEWSIES was already hard a work yesterday recording their track for the album.
