Live performances have been trending upwards in public spaces such as Los Angeles Farmers Markets, Chicago community bandstands, NY parks & recreation and even Dallas airport concourses are discovering authentic music crowds. The Noah Todd Band is an excellent example of high quality performers who just want to make more music but be heard by the masses. 

Theater West End was wise to split Angels in America in the season as two separate performances, each with their own block in the schedule. Originally, I was concerned that the Part Two of it all might turn away prospective theatergoers. But upon watching both parts now, and bearing in mind my own familiarity for the characters, I can also see now how the original production’s 18-month gap would have also been enticing for an audience.

Country music icon Randy Travis has extended his “More Life Tour” into spring 2026, featuring his original touring band and special guest vocalist James Dupré.

David Foster: The Hitman Cruise has added Shoshana Bean to its star-studded 2026 lineup. Bean joins a roster of legendary performers led by 16-time GRAMMY Award winner David Foster.

Richard Chamberlain, renowned for his roles in 'The Thorn Birds' and 'Shogun,' has died at 90. Chamberlain, celebrated for his versatility in film, theater, and television, passed away on March 29th, 2025, in Waimanalo, HI, following a stroke. His career spanned decades, earning him numerous accolades, including Golden Globes for his performances.

Film producer Eric Groth and writer/director Andrew Hyatt have announced the new film “Forever And Ever, Amen” about the life of music legend Randy Travis. Hyatt will direct from his own script.

Joshua Morrisey electrifies the stage as the irresistibly vibrant Damian Hubbard in the touring production of Mean Girls. His journey from belting out tunes in a high school gospel choir to landing a role in Footloose is a testament to his unyielding passion for performance.

Dr. Parsonnet, whO served as chairman of the New Jersey Symphony from 1991–2007, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2024, at the age of 100. Learn more about the life and career of Parsonnet.

Kimberly Demmary is a talented playwright and actress who has had a number of plays make their debuts on Ventura County stages. Her latest is SHE, an anthology of four stories that all take place in a Victorian house in San Francisco. The story deals with four women who live there in the 1960's, 1990's, 2002, and present-day.

Bill Bryson's smash-hit memoir,  Notes From A Small Island, will journey to the stage of the Theatre Royal, Glasgow as part of a national UK tour starring TV favourite Les Dennis as much-loved writer Bill Bryson.

Today’s subject Nora Palka is currently living her theatre life at Signature Theatre playing Jeanie in their current production of Hair. The production runs through July seventh in the MAX. Hair is a homecoming for Nora to be sure. She grew up in the DC area and as you will read, credits Signature with her wanting to become a professional performer.

The official music video for Charlie Parr’s new song, “Boombox,” is out now after premiering at Rolling Stone alongside an in-depth interview. Directed and animated by Kev Craven, the whimsical video is a celebration of the unique and meaningful relationships people have with music. Boombox” is from Parr’s acclaimed new album, Little Sun, which was released last month via Smithsonian Folkways.
