Jesus Christ Superstar began as a concept album in 1970 before making its stage debut in 1971. The original 1970 concept album was the brainchild of composer Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyricist Tim Rice.

Living in Palm Springs sitting down with Broadway gypsy Joe Giamalva who has played in many arenas from stage to screen as a sought-after actor/dancer/producer. He also entertained several generations of television viewers on Saturday morning children’s classics H.R. PufnStuf, Land Of The Lost, and Disney Channel favorites. On Monday, February 26, artists and supporters of Florida Studio Theatre flocked to the theater for its annual fundraiser, Shakespeare's Shindig: A Modern Day Renaissance. With a nod to history's greatest playwright, this year's Shakespearean-themed event celebrated the resurgence of theatre in today's society, with more people attending theatre today than at any point in modern day history. Long-time FST supporter Marie G. Kropp chaired the event, and Gulf Coast Community Foundation supported the Shindig as its lead sponsor. With live, exclusive entertainment, the presentation of the distinguished Spelman Award, a plated dinner, and merriment abounding, Shakespeare's Shindig was a not-to-be-missed event for many of the greatest patrons of the arts and contemporary theatre in Sarasota.

On May 26 and 27 at 7:30 PM, Maestro Thierry Fischer leads the Utah Symphony and guest violinist Simone Porter in the final Masterworks performance of the 2016-17 season featuring Stravinsky's "The Rite of Spring." Also on the concert repertoire are works by Tchaikovsky and Varese.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the romantic comedy "Lunch Hour" by Jean Kerr, on Monday, April 24, at 7 p.m.  The reading will be directed by Anne Keefe, Playhouse associate artist and curator of the playreading series. Tickets are $20 each. 

Two dozen rare and limited release Frank Zappa recordings will be made widely available around the world when UMe assumes distribution of the albums as part of their global partnership with the Zappa Family Trust.

Casting is announced for the Script in Hand playreading of "Mary, Mary," a witty romantic comedy about a marriage gone hilariously awry, at Westport Country Playhouse, on Monday, February 10, 7 p.m. Tickets are $15. The play is written by Jean Kerr and directed by Anne Keefe.

State St.) on Saturday, November 6, at 8pm, and Sunday, November 7, at 3pm. The program will include Haydn's Overture to L'isola disabitata, Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto in E Minor, and Brahms' Symphony No. 1.

Gateway Playhouse in Bellport remains and is so popular that local residents know better than to drive along South Country Road at certain hours lest they become entangled in traffic either entering or exiting the theater. The Gateway Playhouse is located on the site of the former Mott Estate on the eastern-most tip of Bellport , New York . Rumors are rife about the ghost of Lucretia Mott still haunting one of the buildings on the premises but she seems to be benign and hasn't caused any significant problems in the past few decades.

Barbara Bel Geddes, who originated the role of Maggie the Cat in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and who played Miss Ellie on 'Dallas,' passed away on August 8th at the age of 82
