Chaos is in the air, and yet life goes on. For the duration of the play's run The Bunker will become The Anchor - transformed into a functioning pub with post-show events including pub quizzes, karaoke nights and music.

Bristol Riverside Theatre announces that Founding Director Susan D. Atkinson and Artistic Director Keith Baker will be stepping down from their day-to-day roles at the end of the 2019-2020 season. Atkinson is credited with helping to rejuvenate Bristol Borough during her 33 years of service. She led the way in turning an old adult movie theatre into a professional theatre company that has produced five world class productions a year for the past 33 years. Baker steps down after 28 years of service to the theatre. He wore many different hats at BRT, directing, singing and acting in over 120 plays and musicals, and steering its artistic vision. The duo will step down from their roles at the conclusion of the current season. The BRT Board of Directors has launched an extensive search for a new artistic director. Later in the season, look for news of a special event that will honor Atkinson and Baker's service to the organization and the community.

One lower-priced preview takes place on September 20.

The evening will honor Karl and Orfeh, who will be awarded the Humane Society of New York's Sandy Fund Award in recognition of their deep concern and support of the needs of rescued animals. The Award will be presented by Richard Blake, who co-starred with Orfeh and Karl in Legally Blonde, The Musical.

Musicals at Richter (MAR), celebrating 35 seasons as the longest-running outdoor theater in Connecticut, continues its main stage season with 'Shrek the Musical,' a hilarious fairy tale adventure based on the beloved animated film and children's book, playing July 26 to August 10. Staged on the grounds of the Richter House Arts Center, 100 Aunt Hack Road, in Danbury, performances take place outdoors under the stars Friday through Sunday evenings, with additional specially discounted performances on Thursday August 1 and 8.

SHOWTIME has made a series commitment to an untitled musical drama series executive produced by multiple Grammy winner Alicia Keys and the Oscar, Tony and Grammy winning team of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul (La La Land, Dear Evan Hansen, The Greatest Showman). Pasek and Paul will contribute music to the series. Kyle Jarrow (The SpongeBob Musical) will write and executive produce. Tony winner and Oscar nominated producer Marc Platt (Jesus Christ Superstar Live in Concert, The Band's Visit, La La Land), Emmy winner R.J. Bridge Street Theatre in Catskill continues its Free Summer Movie Matinee Series this Saturday July 6th with a real gem - German animator Lotte Reiniger's exquisite "The Adventures of Prince Achmed" (1926). Based on tales from the Arabian Nights, the film tells the story of the handsome and dashing Prince Achmed, who is tricked by a wicked sorcerer into mounting a magical flying horse. The prince foils the sorcerer's evil intent and soars headlong into a series of exciting adventures, joining forces with Aladdin and the Witch of the Fiery Mountains, doing battle with the sorcerer's army of monsters and demons, and falling in love with the beautiful Princess Peri Banu.
