The new Broadway musical Come From Away is currently in previews at Broadway's Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre and officially opens Sunday, March 12, 2017. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

Junkyard Dog Productions (Randy Adams, Marleen and Kenny Alhadeff and Sue Frost) announced that theatrical licensor Music Theatre International (MTI) has secured the worldwide licensing rights to Irene Sankoff & David Hein's COME FROM AWAY.

American Opera Projects (AOP) announces the return of its popularComposers & the Voice program for its 2017-19 seasons. Created and led by Composers & the Voice Artistic Director Steven Osgood, eight composers and librettists will be selected for two-year fellowships to learn the fundamentals of writing for the voice and opera stage. Workshop sessions with professional opera singers, mentors, and instructors are held at AOP's home base in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. Applications and complete information will be available beginning March 15 atwww.aopopera.org/composers_voice. The deadline for applications is April 28 with fellowships announced by July 1.

 The Ridgefield Playhouse and Ridgefield Magazine Broadway and Cabaret Series presents a night with the Legendary Tony Award-winning actor Ben Vereen on Sunday, May 21 at 8 p.m.  Ben Vereen's performances transcend time and are woven into the fabric of this country's artistic legacy. In this special evening, partially underwritten by Adam Broderick Salon and Spa,  you will take a whirlwind trip through Vereen's career and favorite songs - including numbers from Pippin (for which he won the Tony Award) and Jesus Christ Superstar, interspersed with loving and sometimes hilarious anecdotes about some of the Broadway greats he has worked with.  The night winds its way through various autobiographically-inspired segments.  Media sponsor for this special event is CPBN Connecticut Public Broadcasting Network.

The House Theatre of Chicago announces the final production in their 15th season, The Great and Terrible Wizard of Oz, adapted from L. Frank Baum's book by The House Theatre Company Member Phillip Klapperich and directed and choreographed by The House Theatre Company Member Tommy Rapley, playing at the Chopin Upstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., March 17 - May 7. Opening/press night is Monday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. Preview tickets (evenings March 17 - March 26, no performance March 25) are $15 and regular run tickets range from $25 - $45. The show is recommended for adults and kids aged 10 and up. Same-day tickets for students and industry professionals are $15 and available for all dates, seats permitting. Starz announced today that the highly-anticipated eight-episode first season of FremantleMedia North America produced STARZ Original Series AMERICAN GODS, adapted from Neil Gaiman's acclaimed contemporary fantasy novel, will make its network premiere on Sunday, April 30th at 9PM ET/PT.
