Get ready to fly high at the Fort Wayne Civic Theatre's summer musical, opening this weekend. Following up from last year's crowd-pleasing and high-energy production of NEWSIES, this year's fare is the family-friendly CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG, based on the beloved 1968 film and with music and lyrics by Richard M. Sherman and Robert B. Sherman.

Twenty-five years ago in Grand Rapids, the Van Andel Arena still was on the drawing board. Meijer Gardens had opened just three months earlier, but it would be many years before an outdoor amphitheater would be built as a venue for summer concerts.   At Cannonsburg Ski Area, on a steamy evening in mid-July, the Grand Rapids Symphony launched a brand new, outdoor concert experience called the Picnic Pops.   This season The Grand Rapids Symphony celebrates its 25th Anniversary of its D&W Fresh Market Picnic Pops with a series of three shows that are all time favorites with Picnic Pops audiences plus a special event capping off four weeks of concerts at Cannonsburg.

Trumpet icon Herb Alpert and Grammy Award-winning vocalistproducer Lani Hall return to Cafe Carlyle performing new and classic songs, November 19-30. The Albany Symphony today announced the 2019 American Music Festival, Sing Out! New York, a bold two-weekend national festival and regional tour of musical performances and new art happenings, taking place in renowned concert venues in Troy and in public parks throughout New York State's Capital Region.  Sing Out! New York kicks off on Thursday, May 30 with First Draughts Reading Session & Beer Tasting and runs through Sunday, June 2 in Troy, then embarks on a four-concert tour of the greater Capital Region on Thursday, June 6,2019.

Houston Ballet Academy will host a Character Workshop led by Master Character Dance Teacher Tom Bosma, as a part of the Academy's new Weekend Workshop series. Dance teachers will have the opportunity to learn the basics of character dance and will gain knowledge of the musical background of European dances including Polka, Waltz, Czardas, Krakowiak, Polonaise and Mazurka.

Theatre Wesleyan, one of the longest-running theatres in the Metroplex, will conclude their 2018/19 mainstage season with a production of the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical, AVENUE Q.  The department's annual spring musical is one of the longest-running theatre traditions in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

The Case Western Reserve University/Cleveland Play House MFA Acting Program is proud to present Noel Coward's classic comedy Hay Fever. This madcap play about a weekend with the eccentric Bliss family will star the MFA Class of 2020 and a guest performer.  Director Jerrold Scott's production will take the audience back to the 1920's and remind them of the joy of life and fear of boredom. The show will run from February 27th-March 9th in Helen Theatre at Playhouse Square.

From Friday, February 22 through Sunday, March 3, BAM presents Living with the Dead: The Films of George A. Romero, a career-spanning retrospective-the first since his death-exploring independent trailblazer Romero (1940-2017) and his use of the horror genre to explore the darkness and paranoia of contemporary America. After ushering in a new era in independent and horror filmmaking with 1968's groundbreaking Night of the Living Dead, Romero embarked on a singular, influential four-decade career, imbuing his all-American nightmares with satiric and deadly serious commentaries on issues like race, capitalism, militarism, and government mistrust. In Romero's films, the monsters are not the other-they are us.

Legendary singer Mary Wilson, a founding member of the legendary girl group The Supremes, returns to Cafe Carlyle, May 28-June 8. At Cafe Carlyle, she'll perform favorites from the Great American Songbook, plus a few of her Supreme hits showcasing her legendary smoky voice, as well as share stories from her iconic career. During the intimate set, Wilson will enchant the audience with classic, easy-listening tunes, giving them the chance to witness a diva in her prime.
