Organizers today announced the second phase of the Harlem Renaissance 100, a multi-year celebration originally kicked off in February of this year to commemorate the milestone 100th Anniversary of the Harlem Renaissance and the artistic brilliance born from that movement.

Students who are members of the International Thespian Society (ITS) received awards to attend this year's Virtual International Thespian Festival (ITF) thanks to the newly created Broadway Licensing's Send a Leader Diversity Grant. The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE: MSG) announced today that a ninth show has been added to Ali Wong's upcoming Beacon Theatre residency on Friday, April 24, 2020. Wong, the first female comedian to have a residency at the Beacon Theatre, has sold out all eight previously announced shows at the legendary venue. Tickets for the April 24 show as part of her Milk & Money tour will go on sale to the general public on Friday, March 6 at 10:00AM (ET).

The Cleveland Orchestra announces updates to its festival, Censored: Art & Power, taking place in spring 2020. The festival is centered around the Orchestra's performances of Alban Berg's opera Lulu on May 16, 19, and 22, 2020, and seeks to spark discussion about the role of art in society, government censorship, and prejudice - using as a starting point Nazi Germany's oppression and weaponization of the arts by labelling groups and styles 'Degenerate Art & Music.' As a central theme within the Orchestra's 2019-20 season, the festival features a variety of collaborative presentations surrounding the opera performances.

Goodman Theatre Artistic Director Robert Falls has announced casting for his upcoming revival of Molly Sweeney by Brian Friel. In assuming the title role, Chicago favorite Kate Fry returns to the Goodman, following her recent appearance in Falls' production of The Winter's Tale. Joining Fry are stage and screen star Brendan Coyle (Downton Abbey), who returns to the Goodman following his triumphant appearance in last season's St. Nicholas by Conor McPherson, and Chicago's Christopher Donahue (Oedipus Rex at Court Theatre, Moby Dick at Lookingglass).

Back to the Backlot, a live musical comedy variety show, will bring back many of West Hollywood's famed Backlot Theatre's original showcase stars to commemorate the end of an era of one of the country's most famous venues for live entertainment. The event will mark the beginning of the preservation project known as Robertson Lane, which will re-build the venue formally known as The Factory and the famous Studio One Nightclub. The historic building opened in 1929 as the home of Mitchell Cameras, an early and important movie camera maker for the large movie studios. It was then the Studio One nightclub/Backlot Theatre from the late 1970s through the 1990s.

Bette Davis and John Wayne to Bo Diddley and Bob Dylan, the State Theatre in Portland has seen its share of stars since it first opened its doors on November 8, 1929. On Friday, November 8, 2019, the theatre will kick off a celebration of its 90th birthday with a week-long scavenger hunt around Portland with ticket and merchandise giveaways to mark the historic occasion. Details will be available via the State Theatre pages on Facebook and Instagram. Additional special events will be planned for November and December.

The Usher Hall and Live Music Now Scotland have partnered to present a series of special concerts at Usher Hall that showcase the best upcoming musical talent from Scotland. The Emerging Artists series returns for its 10th season and will have four concerts across December and January, each presented by different musicians performing a different style of music.
