THE DJANGO will bring another month of stellar jazz by some of the field’s heroes alongside young, emerging artists.

Former child star, outspoken activist, and TV Land Award winner ALISON ARNGRIM continues to tour the world with her critically acclaimed CONFESSIONS OF A PRAIRIE BITCH: NELLIE OLESON LIVE! Best known as acid-tongued, pre-Midol meanie Nellie Oleson from 'Little House on the Prairie', Alison Arngrim presents an uproarious evening of storytelling, stand-up, and multi media about life as everyone's favorite toxic pre-teen brat, complete with petticoats and ringlets.

In celebration of her soon to be released album Ann Kittredge:reIMAGINE(Jazzheads, Inc./King Kozmo Music), a specially curated collection of songs uniquely re-imagined, Ms. Kittredge, will appear at The Laurie Beechman Theatre (407 West 42nd Street – between 9th & 10th Avenues) on Thursday, May 26th at 7pm.

After more than two years since its original opening night was set in 2020, Nashville Repertory Theatre’s eagerly anticipated production of Disney’s Mary Poppins – the stage musicalization of P.L. Travers’ tales of the acerbic British nanny and her oft-misbehaving charges – has finally landed on the stage of the James K. Polk Theatre at Tennessee Performing Arts Center.

Fiery Seahorse Productions will present the 2022 Reading of Chicagoan Marie Yuen's adaptation of 'Ye-Xian: The Chinese Cinderella' (working title 'C2'), on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Chinese American Museum of Chicago - Raymond B. & Jean T. Jazz at Princeton University, helmed by acclaimed saxophonist/composer Rudresh Mahanthappa, announces the return of the Princeton University Jazz Festival. Presented in conjunction with Jazz Appreciation Month, the event, which takes place Wednesday, April 27 – Saturday, April 30, features guest artists guitarist Gilad Hekselman, and saxophonists Seamus Blake, Tony Malaby and Alexa Tarantino performing with Princeton University's stellar student ensembles.

LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts will take to the stage this month for the all-school musical performance of 'All Shook Up,' a 2004 Broadway musical that takes the music of Elvis Presley and turns it into a story of inspiration and inclusion.

The production features Emanuelle Araujo, in the role of sarcastic Velma Kelly; Paulo Szot, as  the charming and unscrupulous Billy Flynn (a role he currently played on Broadway); and Carol Costa as the “innocent” and surprising Roxie Hart. L. Candido (Mary Sunshine), Lilian Valeska (Mama Morton) and Eduardo Amir (Amos Hart) complete the main cast.

An extension to booking has been announced for the Olivier award-winning production of Mary Poppins with tickets now on sale until 10 July 2022 at the Prince Edward Theatre. 

Theater for the New City and Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre converted their production of  'A Christmas Carol, Oy! Hanukkah, Merry Kwanzaa' from live performances to virtual (online) only. The production has been extended an additional week, now playing through January 9 instead of January 2.

THE DJANGO, downtown Manhattan’s premier jazz club, will continue to host today’s jazz legends and rising stars. On February 3, The Django celebrates the fifth anniversary of the Brooklyn-based record label, La Reserve, with special performances by the label’s artists.

For the delight of audiences aged 5 to 105, Theater for the New City, 155 First Ave., will present Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre (CAMT) in 'A Christmas Carol, Oy! Hanukkah, Merry Kwanzaa' from December 22 to January 2. The show is an adaptation of Dickens' classic with Old World accents and New World inclusiveness.
