The criteria are that these shows have been nominated for Best Musical from the 3rd Tony Awards (the ceremony that started the Best Musical category) in 1949 to the nominations of what will now be the 74th Tony Awards in 2021. I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

The Seattle National Guard Armory opened on this date in 1939, making this the 80th anniversary of the building's opening. The monumental Streamlined Moderne building, with its 18-inch thick walls, has served many governmental and community purposes during its long life. Now as it enters its next chapter, it is undergoing exterior and entryway upgrades, new lighting and signage and a newly named gathering place, the Seattle Center Armory Food & Event Hall, where thousands of community and entertainment events happen throughout the year, along with a broad selection of locally sourced eateries, attract millions of visitors.

It is totally appropriate in this era of increased activity by White Supremist groups and rising anti-Semitism, that Kent State University's Musical Theatre program stage 'PARADE,' with book by Alfred Uhry and music and lyrics by Jason Robert Brown.

BroadwayWorld is saddened to report that actor John Karlen passed away earlier today at age 86 of congestive heart failure in hospice care in Burbank, California.

ABC and the PEANUTS gang will ring in the new year with the animated PEANUTS special, “Happy New Year, Charlie Brown,” created by late cartoonist Charles M. Schulz, along with “She's a Good Skate, Charlie Brown,” THURSDAY, DEC. 26 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. (TV-G)  (Rebroadcast. OAD: 12/23/09)

Celebrating its 37th anniversary, Outfest - the Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization promoting equality by creating, sharing, and protecting LGBTQ stories on the screen - today announced the complete programming lineup for the 2019 Outfest Los Angeles LGBTQ Film Festival, presented by HBO. The nation's leading LGBTQ festival will be held July 18-28, 2019.
