Main Street Theater is now in its 45th Season and has announced a new array of virtual performances for theater lovers of all ages.

Round House Theatre has announced a new lineup of plays, conversations, and education offerings for its 43rd Season, which includes digital programming for the fall and winter and a return to live productions in its Bethesda theatre in spring 2021.

First up in the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center's newly revamped 2020 Summer Season - now online, the 30th NATIONAL PUPPETRY CONFERENCE (PUP) running June 8 through June 12, 2020. Many may think that the heartwarming and brassy American musical comedy of yore with it's hummable tunes will never be seen again. That the days of star driven shows have dried up. The era when the names of Mary Martin, Ethel Merman, or Carol Channing all but guaranteed a hit musical. Now producers are wary of putting all of their eggs in one basket, relying on a star to stick with a show until it recoups it's investment. Happily...... no, joyously...... Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans announced today that individual tickets for the tour of the Tony Award®-nominated Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof will go on sale Friday, Feb. 21 at 10 a.m. Presented by the New Orleans Theatre Association, Fiddler on the Roof is part of the Hancock Whitney Broadway in New Orleans 2019-2020 season and will be coming to the Saenger Theatre from May 12-17, 2020.

The 35th annual Buffalo International Jewish Film Festival – the third longest running festival of its kind in North America – will present 11 award-winning and critically acclaimed films from around the world including Israel, Hungary, Mexico, Argentina, Germany and the United States.

There are times when being a theater reviewer is a fabulous gig. Last night at the Providence Performing Arts Center was one of those times. FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, running through Sunday at PPAC is not to be missed. It is warm, funny, sad, uplifting, and helps us see the world from the vantage point of the oppressed-it is gorgeous. First, let's give credit to FIDDLER'S creators: Jerry Bock wrote the music, Sheldon Harnick the lyrics, and Joseph Stein the book. Bock and Harnick had previously collaborated on the Tony and Pulitzer Prize winner Fiorello; Stein had been part of the writing team along with Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner and Neil Simon on television's Your Show on Shows-these were some talented guys. The original Broadway production of the show, which opened in 1964, had the first musical theatre run in history to surpass 3,000 performances. It held the record for the longest running Broadway musical for almost ten years. The production was extraordinarily profitable and highly acclaimed. It won nine Tony awards, including best musical, score, book, direction and choreography. It spawned five Broadway revivals and a highly successful film adaptation and has enjoyed enduring international popularity.

Due to demand Transport Group has announced a two-week extension for its production of The Unsinkable Molly Brown, which will now run through Sunday, April 5, at Abrons Arts Center, 466 Grand Street.

The Yardley Players production of 'Last of the Red Hot Lovers' takes personal desperation and hilarity to an entirely new level when married, middle-aged and nebbishy Barney Cashman, a seafood restaurant owner, tests out his inner Don Juan. The Neil Simon classic takes the stage at the Kelsey Theatre at Mercer County Community College (MCCC) Feb. 14 through 23.

Theater fans tend to highlight certain events throughout the year, moments where the work being produced in theaters, mostly on Broadway, has a chance to shine and become known to greater audiences. The Tony Awards in June and the Thanksgiving Day Parades in November usually draw the most attention, but the Grammy Awards each winter also brings this pleasure to theater fans.

Broadway at The Paramount will present the Seattle engagement of the Tony Award®-nominated Broadway revival of Fiddler on the Roof at The Paramount Theatre from January 14 - 19, 2020. The tour launched October 17, 2018 in Syracuse, New York at Landmark Theatre.
