Moonbox Productions will present the award-winning gospel musical Crowns by Regina Taylor adapted from the book by Michael Cunningham and Craig Marberry. 

The play selections at TPNC have always intrigued me. I consistently leave their shows with new insights and feeling thoroughly entertained, or emotionally roused. Currently playing is Terra Nova, which won playwright Ted Tally an OBIE Award for its 1984 New York production. Tally also won an Oscar for his adapted screenplay of The Silence Of The Lambs in 1991.

In The Heart Sellers, playwright Lloyd Suh crafts a poignant and deeply human story of friendship, identity, and belonging. Set on Thanksgiving in the 1970s, the play follows Luna and Jane—two immigrant women, one from the Philippines and the other from Hong Kong—who form an unexpected bond as they navigate life in a country that often makes them feel like outsiders. It’s a story about connection, resilience, and finding home in each other.

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of a new romantic comedy, “BackTalk,” about first dates and second thoughts, on Monday, February 3, at 7 p.m. The play is written by Rob Ackerman and directed by Jeremy Webb.
