What did our critic think of STAGES “WAKES UP LITTLE SUSIE” IN SEASON OPENER, DREAM: THE MUSIC OF THE EVERLY BROTHERS at Stages? We all have that one or two friends who know everything about a niche topic. For example, I can tell you the entire timeline of the Harry Potter books, films, and spin offs. Much to the chagrin of my friends and family whenever we discuss them I am usually the one that corrects incorrect facts and states the phrase “Um, Actually!” to their annoyance. However, unlike me, Eric Anthony and Ben Hope have created a night of musical theater that transcends and uplifts their expansive knowledge on the rock n roll duo, the Everly Brothers into an amazing night of musical theater.

What did our critic think As a 5 decade long advocate for Candlelight Dinner Theatre, first as actor and then as reviewer, it is immensely gratifying to witness that not only have they survived but prospered over these years. They pay their actors and creative crew only a stipend. To a man/woman, “they do it for love”. Having been in tens of theatres over the years, no company exhibits the consistent joy and passion as do those that grace Candlelight’s stage. The packed house on opening night of SWEET CHARITY felt that vibe.of SWEET CHARITY at Candlelight Music Theatre?

Charles Dickens' novels are filled to the brim with characters who capture different elements of the human condition - evil and good and, crucially, plenty in-between. Perhaps the most fascinating of them all - at least she was to me when first I read Great Expectations in my mid-20s - is Estella, Pip's paramour who isn't, Miss Havisham's instrument of revenge on men and the high maintenance, intelligent, beautiful woman a certain kind of man is always going to fall for.
