Theatre has always intersected with politics, and the presence of American presidents in Broadway, off-Broadway, and regional theatre plays and musicals is a major part of this. The 2024 production earned seven Tony Award nominations, including Best Musical, which I feel is an earned acknowledgment that speaks more to the craftsmanship, the ambition, and the emotional journey present in the show. The stage production’s direction, choreography, puppetry design, and ensemble synergy create moments of theatrical awe that are impossible to deny. What the songs lack in dramatic momentum, the production more than makes up for in its combination of narrative intimacy with large-scale visual storytelling.

The Education Department of the Warner Theatre is thrilled to announce the students of the Young Actors Series program will present FOOTLOOSE the Musical in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre June 11-12, 2022! 

Westport Country Playhouse will present a Script in Hand playreading of the comedy/drama about mid-life crises and aging parents, “Dot,” written by Colman Domingo, star of AMC’s “Fear the Walking Dead,” and directed by Q. Smith, on Monday, March 14, at 7 p.m. The live performance will be captured on film for on-demand streaming, from Thursday, March 17 through Sunday, March 20. Script in Hand playreadings offer intimate storytelling as professional actors bring the words to life without sets or costumes.

The Virginia Film Festival announced today that several films have been added to its recently-revealed 2021 program – including two of the most talked-about titles on this year's festival circuit.

When you think 'haunted houses' you probably don't picture the inside of a theatre. But with an over 100 year history, many of Broadway's most famous houses are positively teeming with reports of the supernatural.

Deemed one of the '25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World' by MovieMaker Magazine in 2019, the Third Horizon Film Festival returns for its fifth edition. This year the festival will be hosted hybrid style with a thoughtfully curated mix of in-person and virtual screenings beginning June 24, 2021, through July 1, 2021, in Miami, Florida.

The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center has announced a Fall Season of digital concerts to replace each of the performances originally scheduled for Alice Tully Hall -- Front Row Mainstage, 16 newly-curated concerts drawn from CMS's vast archive of high-quality recordings.

The Warner Theatre will hold its 18th Annual Wine & Food Tasting on Friday, October 25, from 6-9 pm, presented in partnership with The Cork Fine Wine & Spirits and sponsored by Thomaston Savings Bank. The Cork will generously donate 10% of all sales that evening back to the theatre! General admission tickets are $25 in advance, $30 the day of event and VIP admission tickets are $75.

The Torrington Symphony Orchestra will present New Musical Artists, on Saturday, May 11 at 7:30 pm in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre. Under the direction of conductor Maurice Steinberg, the orchestra will perform overtures, arias and light classics and feature soprano Benedetta Cordaro, tenor Erick Sanchez and composer Dale Osterman.

The Hubbell Difference Foundation will present An Evening to Promote the Science of Reading, at the Warner's Studio Theatre on Friday, May 10, 2019. The evening includes a film screening of Dislecksia:The Movie followed by an expert panel discussion comprised of reading and learning experts, headlined by Dr. Margie Gillis, President and CEO of Literacy How and moderated by Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Harvey Hubbell V (Dislecksia:The Movie). Doors will open at 6 pm, followed by a poem reading by Jake Sussman at 6:30 pm, the film screening at 6:35 pm and the panel beginning at 8 pm.

ASAP! will present one of the most popular and unusual dance companies in the world, PILOBOLUS, to the Warner Theatre's Main Stage on Saturday, March 30 for performances at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
