Chesterwood will present a staged reading of "The Lincoln Family Album", written and moderated by noted Lincoln scholar Harold Holzer, on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. in Daniel Chester French's Studio. The presentation is the third program Holzer has written and narrated for Chesterwood and follows the success of previous sold-out performances of Holzer's "Lincoln Speaks."

The Long Beach International Film Festival (LBIFF) is pleased to announce its diverse lineup of feature-length documentaries, feature-length narrative films, and short films screening from August 1 to August 4. Drawing nearly 400 filmmaker submissions from over 20 different countries, 52 have been selected for screening.

THE VIEW UPSTAIRS, a musical by Max Vernon, whose musical KPOP won Best Musical honors in off-Broadway's Lortel Awards and was also nominated for seven Drama Desk awards, is inspired by real life events of the 1973 arson attack at the UpStairs Lounge, a vibrant gay bar in New Orleans. Now accepted as a targeted anti-gay attack, the arson resulted in the deaths of 32 people and was, until the 2016 Orlando Pulse Nightclub shooting, the deadliest assault on a gay club in U.S. history. The show is inspired by and pays tributes to many of the patrons that frequented the venue.

Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning writer and actress Renee Taylor - known to millions for her role as Fran Fine's food-obsessed mother, Sylvia, on "The Nanny" - will return to the New York stage this summer in MY LIFE ON A DIET, an autobiographical comedy written by Ms. Taylor and her late husband Joseph Bologna.

As the brand-new Interim Executive Producer of Theatre Arlington I am thrilled to announce our brand-new 2018-2019 season. We had to make some changes in our season due to national tours and licensing restrictions. One show change affects the balance of the season as a whole and gave me the opportunity to make new artistic choices.

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts and Joe's Pub at The Public join forces once again for the Kimmel Center Theater Residency. Under the tutelage of Jay Wahl, Producing Artistic Director of the Kimmel Center, and Shanta Thake, Director of Joe's Pub, the program serves as an incubator for artists and their collaborators to create and develop music and theater projects. The program will be held in the Kimmel Center's SEI Innovation Studio (300 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA) from June 18-30 with Public Readings, free and open to the public, on June 29 and 30. Readings will be followed by Q&A sessions with the artists.

Shakespeare's Globe has announced full casting for Othello, directed by Claire van Kampen, opening in The Globe on Friday 20 July.

Stanislav Ioudenitch, Artistic Director of Park International Center for Music (Park ICM), announced today that their 2018-2019 season would kick off in September with a new performance home, the 1900 Building in Mission Woods, Kansas. "For the first time, we will perform our entire season at the 1900 Building as we adore performing in their wonderful spaces," said Ioudenitch. Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) Artistic Director Bill Rauch announced the Festival's 2019 playbill today. The season, which will be Rauch's last at the artistic helm, celebrates Shakespeare, classics and new plays, including two American Revolutions commissions and a pilot Community Visit Project that will take a bilingual Play on! translation into community venues throughout the region.

New York's beloved Dance Theatre of Harlem, under the artistic direction of Virginia Johnson, returns to NY City Center for its annual homecoming season tonight, April 4, the 50th Anniversary of the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., with the annual Vision Gala, honoring dance legend Carmen de Lavallade and civil rights icon Xernona Clayton.
