Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation (SDCF), the independent, not-for-profit affiliate of SDC, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society, today announced unique plans for its 2019 award evening, which will feature original choreographic pieces resulting from a special commissioning program, with the application period now open. SDCF also announced that Victoria Traube would receive a special 'Mr. Abbott' Award at the event, to be held March 25 at the French Institute Alliance Francaise (FIAF).

Theater of Others is producing their twelfth show, William Shakespeare's The Comedy of Errors, October 5-21. Lijesh Krishnan directs a cast of 13, with costumes by Lisa Claybaugh, at the Theater of Others' home, the Kelly Cullen Community Auditorium, 220 Golden Gate Avenue (between Leavenworth and Hyde) in San Francisco. The Comedy of Errors runs Thursdays through Sundays, October 5-21. As with all Theater of Others' productions, admission is Pay-What-You-Will. The Civic Center BART Station is three blocks from the theater.

Georgia Engel recently passed away at age 70. Engel was a Broadway veteran, appearing in The Drowsy Chaperone; Hello, Dolly!, The Boys From Syracuse, and My One and Only. She was best known, however, for her television roles, namely on The Mary Tyler Moore Show, as well as The Betty White Show, Everybody Loves Raymond, and many more.
