Redd Kross has shared the rousing new single “Born Innocent,” the second song made available from the highly anticipated 18-track eponymous double-album, due for release June 28, 2024. “Born Innocent” appears in the closing credits of the brilliant documentary Born Innocent: The Redd Kross Story, directed by Andrew Reich, who has also directed the video that accompanies the single’s release, which features footage from the must-see documentary. BIG FISH is perhaps the ultimate Father’s Day musical, which is why I found it so ironic that I saw the Arts in Motion production of it the day before Mother’s Day. 

The world premiere of Galileo: A Rock Musical is now on stage Berkeley Rep now through Sunday, June 23, 2024. 

The “Så Stille” video features the motion graphics art of Pao Olea, interwoven amongst footage of singer Cecilie Hafstad and the white reindeer which inspired the project’s title. Gabbarein translates to “White Reindeer” in the Sámi language - the reindeer visited the duo during their improvisational recording session in the Nordic town of Lyngen, on a fjord within the Arctic Circle and was an inspiration for Cecilie during the recording process. Copenhagen’s Anders Trentemøller has announced his new album, Dreamweaver, set for release on September 13. Accompanying the news, Trentemøller has also shared the album’s lead single and leadoff track “A Different Light.” Evoking a musical companion to a lunar eclipse as it tracks across the sky, the track contains many of Trentemøller’s trademarks — rich dichotomies, musical shadowplay, Nordic frigidity, and warm analogue waves.
